Environmental and Sustainability Statement and Targets
At Succoris we are committed to operating in a way that minimises our environmental impact and contributes towards meeting the UK’s target to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2050. As a micro business, we recognise our responsibility to address environmental issues within Succoris and through the services we deliver.
Our Commitments:
Energy Efficiency:
We will continue to reduce energy consumption by using energy-efficient appliances and adopting sustainable practices including: turning off and unplugging equipment and lights when not in use; using our equipment’s energy saving settings; unplugging mobile phone and laptop chargers that are not in use; using lower setting on heating thermostats; and optimising natural heating and lighting; only using energy-efficient lights bulbs.Waste Reduction:
We prioritise reducing, reusing, and recycling wherever possible. By minimising waste and responsibly disposing of materials, we are working to reduce our contribution to landfill. Actions to reduce waste include: being paperless we never print out any paper; recycle all glass, plastic, cardboard, batteries, paper and food waste; all items that cannot be recycled including electrical equipment are re-used through donations to charities or swap schemes; take digital notes rather than physical paper-based notebooks.Minimising Carbon Emissions:
We strive to reach net zero within our operations. We are a remote based service using digital solutions to deliver services virtually. For in-person meetings with clients we undertake minimal travel using public transport or cycling for 90% of journeys; avoid entirely single use plastic; regularly manage data storage for digital documents and emails to reduce the energy required to store on servers; purchase recycled office furniture; and use an environmentally web-site host that uses renewable energy sources operated by Amazon and Google.Water Conservation:
We minimise water use by use of a water meter this helps to conserve water by making users aware of their consumption and encouraging more efficient water use.Sustainable Sourcing:
Wherever feasible, we give preference to local suppliers or use consumable goods that are locally sourced or environmentally.
2025 commitments
Energy efficiency: We will consider switching to renewable energy for cleaner energies like solar or wind if financially viable. To reduce heat loss we will plus the gaps where warm air is being lost for example draughty doors and windows.
Water conservation: We will implement a water butt to collect rainwater from our roof, providing an environmentally friendly way to water our garden during dry months.
Reviews and targets
We regularly review our practices to identify ways to further reduce our environmental impact and incorporate innovative solutions that contribute towards reducing carbon emissions and meeting the UK’s 2050 net zero target.
Carbon emission: We have calculated our total carbon emissions using Business Carbon Calculator by Normative which follows the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. This uses science-based emissions data and a combination of spend-based and activity-based methods to calculate a company’s greenhouse gas emissions. This calculator estimated that our total emissions for our last financial year (1 October 22 to 30 September 23) were 7.46 CO2E. During 2025 we aim to reduce our total emissions by 10% to 6.71 CO2E through reducing our emissions from purchased goods and services (6.12 tonnes CO2E).
